Afghans for Cancer

My dear friend and amazing blog storyteller Shelly has started a charity campaign to raise funds and assist a cancer fund. I’d like to recommend that you 1) visit her blog to read about it and see if you can help
-and -
2) take some time while you are there to have a looksie around. She’s got her blogging “voice” and “niche” down to a whimsical science and it’s awesome to read her blog every day (as I have for quite some time now).

If you can, get her on your daily reads list and then try to donate to the “Afghans for Cancer” cause, it’s a good one. Oh, and another thing, if you help her achieve her goal, she can get back to entertaining me and the rest of us with her storytelling blogs again ;) First things first ya know!

Thank you, Darlin’. Did I tell you I am a master at guilt jerking people (lol)? I do appreciate you posting about it. And, I’ll give you the scoop before I even put it on my own blog. Our first afghan was pieced together by a twelve year old girl! I thought that was pretty cool. I’m gonna run put you on the blogroll before I head off to sleep. I appreciate you.

Also…. A biomedical engineering professor at The University of Texas at Austin is using a concept called “grid computing” to allow the average person to donate idle computer time in a global effort to fight cancer.
