Almost the end of the almost endpoint of the week

This week has been harrowing. I have had many rugs pulled out from under me. It’s days like these I just try to tie a knot and hang on. I know things will get better during these times because that is always the pattern, but with the pressure of the holidays and everything else going on I need to hang in there.

Maybe it’s my background in faith, or maybe the same in education, but I see times like these as a “test.” I’ve learned to turn my eyes (so to speak) away from the stressors and focus on the long term goals: raising healthy, happy kids, my wife finishing school, being a support to the people in my life circle. These are the long term goals. Finances can be good and bad, things will continue to break, there will always be another stressful challenge at work. My long term goals are one-shot deals. they need to be the focus in and out of season.
