Is Jimmy Carter Still Relevant to Politics?
Ah, lovely politics news. The White House today was noted as sending back fight rhetoric to former president Jimmy Carter. Can’t they spend their time on more important things? Even CNN is carrying the story today. In my opinion, the White House needs to get a little respect and listen.
I’ve liked Jimmy Carter since I was old enough to follow politics. He has been similar to Harry S. Truman in his manner of “plain speaking.” I say, now that he’s coming out against Bush and the administration toward Iraq, we listen to him. After all, hasn’t he been in the White House and worked with other countries to solve real problems?
Carter has devoted much of his retired life to “Habitat for Humanity” making homes available to poor folks. I still like Jimmy Carter, and I think Bush ought to consult with him not send back critical words. Jimmy Carter’s view is relevant . . . just as relevant as Bush’s in my opinion. I heard it said recently on a CNN news story that Jimmy Carter can still “swing a hammer” and harm George W. Bush. Carter has said himself he is quite relevant “pounding a hammer.” The article below explains the details of this recent vitriolic, unfortunate, and infantile scene the White House is making:
