“This award is for those bloggers who are nice people; good blog friends and those who inspire good feelings and inspiration. Also for those who are a positive influence on our blogging world. Once you’ve been awarded please pass it on to 7 others who you feel are deserving of this award.”
[Miscellaneous Matters] gave out the positive award for Nice Matters. She then included me in her awards saying:
Damien has a freshness to his blog and mixes it up. I find him to be quite believable as a man. I’m not sure why I expressed that, but as we say in church, that’s for somebody. Holla if it’s you! Damien is filled with passion for life and expresses it often. Please don’t be surprised if he’s offering tech information, Word Press success, or some humorous insight within a day or two. He’s filled with a plethora of knowledge and willingly shares it. If it hasn’t been said before let me be the first, he’s a really nice guy!
I have to really thank Rosemarie for her recognition and kind kind words. It’s always so nice to be “seen” in this huge expanse called the internet. In response to my nomination, I have made 7 of my own:
[Derek Semmler dot com] Derek has become a true online pal. I’ve been reading and commenting in his “community” for some months now and it’s one of those “familiar” places I enjoy visiting in my day. Unfortunately I have slacked quite a bit inn my commenting there due to work and family stuff taking the place of computer time, but I know he “gets” that because he too is around my age with kids of his own! I really respect Derek and I hope one day we can get together and break bread with the fams! I know we’re bazillion miles apart, but he’s just one of those blogs that feels close by, around the corner!
[Life is RANTastic!] Jessica the Rock Chick, as her online moniker goes, is a firecracker. Every comment she leaves is positive and upbeat and she always tries to look on the bright side of things. I appreciate that about her. She recently made a brave jump into WordPress as her blog platform and her migration has had a few snags. Still, she’s open to trying new things and that sets her apart. her writing “voice,” positive theme in her posts, and her openness to try new things puts her in the “nice” category for me.
[Party of Five] This lady is pretty special to me. She befriended, then dated, then tied the knot with a “special needs” husband (namely me). She has patiently weathered the storm with me since August 2002 and we are still navigating toward the lighthouse but the boat has 2 kids more in the cargo area. We have so much fun passing the months and years by. She was very very hesitant to make a blog because she thought it would be too hard to write all the posts she saw me writing. I am an MA in English with a 70 page thesis under my belt, she . . . not as much into writing. I have received over ten emails since she started telling me how great her writing is on her blog. You can see more in her comments and also in mine. Give her a little encouragement to keep going, she definitely qualifies as nice and then some (none of you know how hard I can be to live with!)
[Oubipaws] Nick is great. he’s a younger guy starting his life and finding his voice through a blog. That takes courage, tenacity, and smarts . . . Nick’s got them all. And when I hit him up for some coding help, he emailed me back within minutes with the answer. What a resource (selfish me).
[Tumbled Words] I can’t say enough about Marcia. If it weren’t for her, half of my blog features wouldn’t work. She sends me bug reports whenever I change an effect or a theme. She, like Jessica, is very enterprising to try new technology. Her migration from blogger to WordPress has been a bit smoother but certainly not without it’s share of HELLLLLLP!!!! emails LOL. Marcia, please don’t be offended. You and I both know that was only like one email and I find those types of emails make my day. Not only do I get to find a solutiion for somebody, but I usually learn something new in the process. Marcia is a great person, she honest and she alays returns emails fast. Check out her blog, it is very thought-provoking.
[This Eclectic Life] Shelly is Shelly is Shelly. To know her is to love her. Most of the people I have mentioned above I wouldn’t know if it weren’t for her promotion of my blog on hers. Nice is just the tip of the icberg.
[The Digerati Life] Nice. I do not get over to her finance blog enough. People interested in finance blogs should know she has one of the best I’ve read AND she is a big fan of Riley Central! Why not put her on your blogroll.

You got it right! I am a huge fan of Riley Central, all the way from it's initial post when this blog still had that huge picture of a typewriter on the header!! Since then, I've seen this blog evolve through various themes and I've loved keeping up with it. I may not always comment but I lurk… I am happy to have met someone on the net who shares the same love for TIVO and reality TV as I have. Goodness knows I don't know too many who do… But you reality fans are out there I know it!! :D Go Survivor China! (PS. Big Brother 8 is obnoxious but I'm still addicted to it).
Thanks for passing it on!
@The Digerati Life: Thanks! Sorry your comment went to Akismet/spam folder but I rescued it.
Thank you for the awards, but thank you even more for the nice words!! I find myself in the company of some pretty awesome bloggers here!!!
Jessica The Rock Chick
Damien, thanks for the kind words. I'm guilty of falling off on the commenting myself as I often try to keep updated by reading the RSS feeds and with time constraints I don't always get out to the site to comment.
I'm very happy that you have become part of my "community" and that I have had the chance to become part of yours. I always value your input on the things I post about and look forward to reading your posts.
Thank you. I will be back to comment and read lots! I had to try to fix my blog templates… they were driving me crazy.. Have them almost fixed, enough to leave them alone for awhile…. grin.
How can I be offended! And I figured out lots of things today all by myself - so now this week I can just read! I am honored. Now to really be nice and catch up with all y’all!
Love the blue W for Wordpress….
(and yes, good thing you said to copy it, it went, the comment that is)
Thanks for the visit and comment Marcia! You have the wanderlust for themes and stuff as i do ;) Enjoy it! Heck, it’s all free why not? At least we don’t have gambling habits!
