I’ve Created a Clone: Theme Tweaking

I’ve been telling my wife about blogging for months but until recently she had no interest. In the past couple weeks she has started her blog and tonight I can see she has succumbed to my familiar vices: theme tweaking.
It starts out innocently enough. One finds a theme and uploads it only to find that the title picture or sidebar extra is not to ones liking. One alters some code, photoshops some pictures and then views their “re-creation” or rather “alteration.” Almost without fail this moment is plagued with discontent and so the process continues . . . with new themes, new ideas, new tweaks.
There are “plateau” moments when one is satisfied (temporarily) with ones theme, but I think most people are always looking at the billions of themes and new blogs out there and wondering what it would be like to add or tweak a little more. Right now I am enjoying a plateau and I hope it lasts. I think it will be some time before my wife gets to one. I saw how she was on Myspace, and blogging on Wordpress has many more options than that does. I think it’s okay to change though. You have to give yourself permission to play when it comes to blog tweaking. It’s part of the artistic process. Poor thing. Maybe I never should have brought her into all this ;) Ah, who am I kiddin’ . . . fun stuff like blogging you just have to share!

This was such a sweet, happy post. Good thing you wrote it prior to the midnight wake-up asking how I can make this stuff work, lol. Thanks for all your help. I appreciate it (my page is much cuter than it was 4 hours ago, ha ha ha).
I have been tweaking in an effort to move to the new blogger platform. Mostly I have been doing this %@%@%R$@$%^@ because I would rather just cut and paste and be done with it lol.
Surfed here via said wifes site :)
Thanks for commenting! Blogger is a good platform, especially since Google owns it now. However, I will always be a true die-hard Wordpress.org fan . . . there is such a selection of fun stuff! Having said that, regardless the platform . . . content is King.
She knows more about Photoshop. I’m amazed how fast she’s getting readers and comments! sob sob. It took me like a month to get my first comment!
Heeheehee, where would we be if we couldn’t tweak…
Amen sister!
I’m in the process of tweaking, and more tweaking. Although I’m content now with my pic and message on the blogheader. Like me, my blog will be ever-evolving!
You had better get some lessons from the wife on tweaking the templates. Don’t you just hate that about us?! Show us once and we’re off!
I like the new look over there! keep up the good work over at Miscellaneous Matters I put ya on the blogroll!
That reminds me, you should be on mine too!
