Semiotics is the study of symblos and their meaning.  Through time, the study of structuralism and Semiotics has taught us that words are nothing more than symbols from which we derive meaning.  On their own they have no meaning.  The chapel in which the “Davinci Code” is based has a lot of hidden symbols . . . that were intentional.

An interesting one found recently was a musical score set in seemingly random marks.  The church musicians are set to debut this piece of medieval music at their next concert.

I see a parrallel to life here.  People around us who are different, for example who speak a foreign language, are simply codes yet uncracked.  We should keep an open mind and a discerning eye toward symbols in our culture that seem distorted or ridiculous, because we may most certainly find that they contain truth that would resonate with us.

Every test, every challenge in life that we cannot understand, can be figured out with time and dedication to understanding what is truly OTHER than our life paradigm.

I thought this was an interesting article.  shamrockshamrockshamrock3 Shamrocks
