My Daughter is Nocturnal

Observe this child of mine. Not yet 3 months on this Earth and she has already decided to be a creature of the night. This is how she looks by day. By night, just picture the same face with hard squinted eyes screaming with a little curled tongue. Mom and Dad long for sleep!

Isn’t she adorable though? there is just something about babies that makes it impossible to be upset with them long. When we hear that little ire waking up in her in the night, I know my wife is thinking the same think I am thinking: “Oh geez, I hope (he/she) gets the baby so I can just pretend I didn’t hear her.”

We’ve tried to keep her up in the day so she’ll sleep at night but it isn’t working well. She’s a little doll and I know she will grow out of it, but for now we are ready to call Harvard and do a study in sleep deprivation.

Awwwwww, she is adorable!!! One of my four was nocturnal, too…I think she was about 5 months when she finally switched around. Now that she is a teenager in the summer, she has reverted back to her nocturnal old self :)

Hang in there! Children come with their own rules.
