Open Tuning for Kids

I discovered a great tool for starting my 3 year old learning guitar. It’s called “open tuning.” You tune the guitar to a chord rather than the normal tuning. Then as she strums it it sounds good to the rest of the house. For those who can’t tune? They do sell 5-10 dollar tuners. Here’s a video of my daughter trying it out.

How cool is that??? I have 2 guitar players! My son is learning/getting much better on a regular 6 string acoustic and my daughter plays the electric bass guitar in the Jazz Band at school. One day I will learn how to play one, too. I love the guitar. It’s the perfect pack and go, music anywhere instrument.

How awesome the kids in your house (young adults actually) are strummin’.  Tell them to keep up the good work and one day they can play bars in their hometown like me ;)  It’s a helluva cool thing!

Glad you like the idea.  It sure makes the banging more tolerable.
