Parts of Ideas

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe via rss -or- inspiration, psychology, blogging

I have more ideas in the pipeline than I ever have had before. I’m looking right now at 4 great ideas for blog posts I started but never got to finishing. I think writers should write down as many ideas as possible all the time. You should be throwing out ideas all time too. God help you if I publish every idea I have. Some are downright ghastly. For example, I once wrote a photo/diary post on “Every ceiling I looked at today.” Whoa . . . that one would have been quite embarassing.

Not that writing trivial posts is bad, Seinfeld showed us all an entire show can be based on triviality. Still, a writer should have a large palette of ideas that he is pulling from and putting in all the time. If you think you’ll sit down and write a great post that gets lots of attention ON THE SPOT, you’re not dealing in reality (well, not my reality anyway).

So I’m dedicating this post to “parts of ideas.” may they come freely into your head and may they find ways to make it onto your blog, when you want them to.

aside: It’s Sarah and I’s 5 year wedding anniversary today. How much my life has changed for the better! We are going to Vegas for the weekend next weekend so watch for a cavalcade of colorful photos on my blog, and probably hers too! Or maybe that is just one to add to my bag of “parts of ideas.” Or Sarah may beat me to it. She’s getting really into blogging these days. (cool!)

Happy Anniversary!!

I totally agree with this post. I often make a list of things I thought to blog about but didn’t turn out to be as exciting a post as I planned. I keep them on the backburner until I can work those stories or tidbits in with another post! It’s a great idea!

Yeah.  It’s not the number of great I ideas I have that makes the best posts, it’s the number of posts I throw out.  If I have nothing to throw out, I’m not writing the best I could.

We are excited about Vegas next weekend for our anniversary!

Happy Anniversary! Have so much fun in Vegas next weekend, but leave a bit of money there for my return trip next summer, please.

Now, if the ceilings had been interesting ceilings….

“Every ceiling I looked at today.”  Okay, I’m going to get nosy.  How long have you been on your back?  In buildings, offices, elevators, and such you were looking up.  There is a positive to that.

As far as ideas for posts, they’re coming so rapidly that I should be walking about with paper and pen, always.

All the best on celebrating your fifth anniversary.  It only gets better if you can believe it!
