Phonemic Fun with Fish
All Rileyed Up posted today that her daughter is already showing hippie tendencies at age 2 going on 3. She also mentions the improvisational band “Phish” as the consummate post-modern hippie band to listen to. I’d agree with that association.
My comment on that post is a little phonemic fun I have shown my students for years when the lessons are done and it’s 2 minutes until the bell rings. This is just one of the reasons “hippie” eludes my description while “dork” fills the bill more accurately. What are ya gonna do? We are who we are:
If I were Phish’s manager I would have them change the band name to Ghoti. You see,
laugh - gh = “f”
women - o = “i”
station - ti = “sh”
Ghoti would be cool. I hope Phish reads All Rileyed Up.
