One-stop website promotion solution for small businesses

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe via rss -or- inspiration, psychology, blogging

One thing I have learned the value of in my online money-making quest is companies that research your keywords and try and sell your site. Let’s face it, an online business, large or small, is really a pay per click enterprise: If you get more clicks you get paid more. They have a fully managed custom plan or a pre-packaged starter kit. Both are an amazing value but the custom will give your blog or site a deep detailed analysis which is invaluable when it comes to designing ads.

I found a company called called Network Soulutions that does that and so much more. As an entrepeneur and visionary in what you do, you don’t have the wherewithal to find the fight ads for your service. You don’t have time tio find them and you don’t have time to make them. When you fond a company that can do all this for you at a reasonable fee, you need to use it. I will tell you that your profits, income, rank, and traffic will all benefit as a result. There is much talk nowadays with online businesses about what blogs and website provide “value.” This becomes less of a question when a company is properly “pitched” and represented by the right service. One more word about analyzing a site: When the blogger is working each day to make her/his blog the best it can be, the services sometimes get lost in the mix. An outside company can come in and analyze the blog/service/company inside out and make it come alive to the blogosphere and/or internet public. This company even does print ads for you!

Here’s a bunch of things they do for your mmol blog or website.

One-stop website promotion solution for small businesses; we’ll research keywords, analyze your website, create ad copy, purchase keywords and report on your campaign. To My Reader (You): Make Money Blogging Tomorrow

Sunday, June 15th, 2008

I have had 3 days of the best Fathers’ Day celebration on known record for my brain.

This afternoon at 2pm after enjoying myself with my two lovely daughters and genius son I find myself brimming over with inspiration in need of sharing with the anywhere from 40-200 people that visit me on any given day. I was sitting out by my pool listening to some truly amazing music by Maroon 5 and I decided it was time to give back. I learned to do this from my good internet friend, Derek Semmler. With the “Amazing Visions” contest coming to a close I thought the only post I could publish would be one that gives back. So, I thought, what do they really want? A coupon? Money? Opportunity? Then I came to my embarrassingly simple conclusion:

My readers should know how I am making 200-300 dollars a month and shown the way to do it themselves.

Consider it done: Even though I publish the results and sources of my income every month here at the Funny Farm, I might as well just summarize it again so you can benefit. Here’s the mainstay of my online income folks, sign up and get on board. The first one does contain a referral fee for me of $15 paid to me (by PPP and it costs you nothing) when and if you publish your first paid post. The second one has no referral fee. I just wanted to be up front about the first and ask that you use the graphic link provided when you sign up.

1. PayPerPost, The application process takes a few days. After that you are given writing job choices. The better your PR is, the more opps you get. Please know this may reduce your PR, but it pays cash whereas Google doesn’t pay you anything. I currently have made 85 dollars in June already on PPP.

2. PayU2blog, these guys are great. I am so pleased with their payout and the way they run their business. It involves putting links in your posts. You have to do all assignments and you get $5 per link. Like PPP, there is an approval process so good luck with that!

Ok! I hope that helps you guys out. Why not have extra cash every month for your blogging?

I’d like to challenge you to make tomorrow the big day, or, the day you got serious about making money with your blog! best of luck. I am always here for support.

If you are browsing for the articles on psychology and inspiration and baffled by this throw off course, I apologize for this momentary indulgence in helping my blogging friends. I will return tho the brain and cognitive therapy tomorrow so please stop by. Remember the tagline here is: ” … posts on psychology, inspiration, and BLOGGING.” Maybe you should start one! Message me if your need some help doing that.

To close, let me just say to all the dads out there: HAPPY FATHER’S DAY, your role is so important to your kids and to society. Keep on keepin’ on, dudes.

postscript: Here’s a link to some amazing songs that inpsired me to give you this post today:

Kimberly Clay and the GetMyWealthNow Blog

Wednesday, April 9th, 2008

Make Money: visit this site I’ve had the honor and pleasure of meeting Kimberly Clay, internet marketing expert, online entrepeneur, and founder/blogger at GetMyWealthNow. You may have seen her 125×125 ad on my blog that reads: “Make Money, Build Wealth.” I whole-heartedly endorse her services. They are largely free and extremely helpful in generating online wealth. She’s an expert. When I read through her posts I always find something new of great value. And you may recall last month she asked me to write a guestblog in her niche, and I wrote about how to master making money through blogging one st.... That was a lot of fun, since I don’t usually write about mmol stuff. I am getting more and more into it … you should too if you’re not already! Kimberly’s blog and website is an excellent way to do just that.

Readers that have been here since the early days know that my progression into money has been a gradual one. I’ve taken and continue to take “baby steps” into the marvelous world of being paid. Some ask me “How are you making money with your blog?”  I will tell you that reading Kimberly’s blog is part of how.  So far with the money I have made through blogging has taken my wife and I out on dates, bought my son some reard treats at the store, and allowed me to do advertising of my own of Postcards from the Funny Farm.

Kimberly is not just a stellar coach who will work with you and help you create wealth through blogging, she is also a very nice person who I am happy to know. Her emails are always upbeat and positive and she always takes the extra time to answer my questions about making blog money. You should click on her link and see if you agree with me about Kimberly. What have you got to lose? A couple seconds? I can tell you what you have to gain by knowing Kimberly and/or reading her blog: bucks in your pocket and traffic for your blog!

Entrecard’s New Price System: Deal? or No Deal?

Tuesday, April 8th, 2008

I wrote just days ago about how to choose Entrecard advertisers. It’s still valid except for one thing, cheap doesn’t mean what cheap used to mean. Here’s an excerpt from the article on their blog below:

Written on April 7th, 2008 by Graham
Today we release our long-awaited modification to the pricing system.

It’s going to go live within the next 24 hours. Just to be clear, we are talking about a complete change to the way everyone’s advertising prices are calculated.

Starting today, your ad price is determined solely by demand for your ad spot. Every time someone purchases, or applies to purchase an ad on your site, your price doubles. Every time an ad finishes running, your price halves.

Cheap ads now will mean that not enough people apply to advertise on them.  With my own blog costing in the 600’s per day now, it is going to cost a poor blogger 600 clicks for one day on my blog.  I wouldn’t wish that torture on anyone.  Still, we’ll have to see how it plays out.  It could be a positive and kick those really high pointer blogs that have very little value in their content off the top of the mountain.  If that happens, that will be very good.  I wrote about the actual system of Entrecard if you want to know more from a beginner standpoint.  You’ll find that article here.

This is an example of yet another company who has an idea and thinks every idea they will have after that will be just as good.  One thing I like about Blog Catalog is that they respect their users enough to ask their input repetitively.  That’s what Web 2.0 is all about.  I’d have liked to done a poll at least about this before it went live.  I’ll have to try it and see if it’s something I like or something I’m going to make new space for my own advertising on my sidebar with.

What do you think of Entrecard’s new pricing system?

Blog Safari 3-27-08

What a week! I had five articles published outside my blog! Most were guestblogs (which I hold in very high respect, thanks to all who hosted me last week). As my friends know, this is a serious goal for me right now. In between all that, and having a family of 5 and a full time job as a teacher, the jeep attacked a lot of rock mountains on the weekly Blog Safari. I dug into Blog Catalog discussions more than I ever have (see sidebar widget). Also, I started back into 9Rules which is amazing. Between that and my regular RSS reads, I found some amazing stuff and I’ll serve it up to you here. If you have an article you’d like to see featured here some week, please drop me a line and I will check it out. As always, the articles below all received a well-deserved Stumble. Enjoy the Safari this week!

Hand holding is so… yesterday
A short but great article about how a simple touch and a bit of extra effort can improve your love life and your sex life.

Lord Likely has Some Trouble with The Brown Mist

Speaking of sex, Lord Likely is at it again. His ridiculous shenanigans get him into all kinds of laugh-a-minute situations. Read this post and may it be the one that hooks you on this very entertaining columnist.

Fuelmyblog and other social networking sites, Walking the Stacks

I really like this blog. He’s written about stuff I am currently doing a series on: social networkin.... Check out this cool article and learn as I did from it.

Twitter: what are you doing right now?

I found Tyme’s blog through 9Rules. It’s a great piece of writing. I often wonder why the hell I am on Twitter. Is it ridiculous? Read her article and see what you think.

Got Traffic Blues? Remember Balance

Kimberly is my newest sponsor here at Postcards from the Funny Farm. I will be doing a full review of her site this month as well and linking her to you where I think her services can help. Watch for that, it will be valuable to your piggy bank. This article is an example of the kind of patient and yet effective money coach she is to people who want to make money online. She shows the many ways to make it: not just through ads or clicking. I endorse her stuff heartily. Go check it out, I think you will be both surprised and impressed.

Reaching Your Goals

My main man Derek wrote a great little post on reaching goals. This is like a staple to any form of success in my life. Derek is also one of my ads featured in the right hand upper area of the fold. As a side note, through using principles he has virtually learned through trial and error and through mentors, Derek manages to bring in a sizable chuck of change every month through blogging. Check out what he has to say about goals.

38 TV Themes Recorded by the Actors Themselves

Scared Silly by the Faeries

My writing and academic colleague 1/2 way across the world in Scotland wrote an entry for Shelly Tucker’s contest (which I happen to be judging). This is a great story and it really gives you an idea what Shelly is looking for in the contest. I am the judge. How did I attain this lofty position you ask? Good God I have no freakin’ idea. Maybe it’s because I never write “sex” or “freagin” in my posts ;) Seriously though, if you have a scary story and a blog go to her details post through the button below and get your post done before the submission deadline!

Things I’m Learning from Blogging

The master .. mistress? well … Shelly anyway :) This lady has been a reader of mine for a long time and we have sort of a reciprocal love of storytelling. One of these days I’ll get to see her live (she does it for a living!) Suffice it to say, if this lady has a post about blogging and what she is learning, boy I’ll tell ya what … I’m there ;)

Easily Organize Post Categories

Katy is a very astute, prolific blogger who offers very practical and helpful information to her readers regarding blogging. This is one of those posts! I would add that “Batch Categories” is another very helpful and easy to use plugin to add to the one she lists in her article.

Adventures in Upgrading from Google

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008

As some of you know, I am not the biggest fan of Google these days. When I considered how many services I was using of theirs, I was shocked and vowed to stop relying on them. I have been using alternatives, or what I like to call “upgrades,” now and am using nothing Google related currently. I wanted to promote these alternative services in a post so people are reminded Google “aint the only kid on the block.”

First, the Google services I used to have:

  1. Search
  2. Google Start Page
  3. Gmail
  4. Analytics
  5. Adsense
  6. Calendar

and a few more.

Second, the alternative I upgraded them all with (in corresponding order):

  1. Yahoo!
  2. My Yahoo! Start Page
  3. Yahoo! Mail
  4. Open Web Analytics
  5. Amazon Affiliate Program
  6. Yahoo! Calendar

Unlike Google, I will never tell people what services they should use. But I do recommend that you not use Google services, they are a dishonest corporation and they wield too much power in a free-enterprise system. In upgrading Google services to alternatives, you can take their control away a little. Who knows, maybe one day they’ll be useful again.

Our Yahoo! Personals Success Story

Thursday, January 17th, 2008

Frog PrinceOnline dating helped me find and marry my soul mate Sarah. I even found her during the “free trial” period so the service was free! I thought I’d write a blurb about Yahoo! Personals because I feature them as an advertiser. It isn’t just demographics that makes me do so (most my core readers are married). On the other hand, I chose them because I believe in their product. Most of all, I feature their ads because it worked for me.

I remember at that time feeling quite lonely in a new town with a new job and Yahoo! Personals connected me with Sarah when I really had no friends or family around to help me meet people. (interested readers can find more details on our &#....)

Computer DatingIt works like this: You sign up and upload a small picture of yourself (actually this is optional but it really speeds things up!) Then, you fill out some profile questions and send out a few emails to members that you are interested in. Some, you will find, are indeed certified loony cases. Just keep telling yourself “All you need is ONE.” From there, as you sort through replies you will undoubtedly start to make email friendships. You will find yourself at your parents for thanksgiving sneaking to the computer to see what your online romance has to say.

If it works out perfect like it did for me, you’ll get married within a month! That was 5 years ago and now my wife and I have a wonderful family with laughs and memories that keep on going. If you are single and wanting someone special or if you know someone in your friends and family circle who feels that way, get tuned in to Yahoo! Personals. Trust me, it can work. All you Need is ONE. (and don’t be surprised when the ONE plus ONE turns into one or more beautiful kids! Be ready because it can happen fast!)

Google Sets PayPerPost Blogs’ PageRank to Zero

Tuesday, January 8th, 2008

I’ve been reading story after story about how Google has eliminated the PageRank ranking for thousands (probably hundreds of thousands) of bloggers who have posted for PayPerPost.

At first, I felt worried: “would I lose mine next?” Mine may not be much, but its a 4/10 and it took me many months to work up to that. Then I felt guilty, like I was a spammer or something. After that I felt really pissed off. My wife and I have both worked really hard on our recent posts for PayPerPost and we selected the opportunities because we felt there was something to say about them. Meanwhile, I get trackbacks from junk blogs who have completely plagiarized posts of mine and their Google PageRank is higher than mine. I think villainizing PayPerPost folks, posties as they are called, is the equvalent of what Microsoft tried to do leaving capabilities out in hopes of squashing Netscape … unAmerican,

My Message To Google:

If you really want to eliminate useless blogs in a search, eliminating pagerank for PayPerPost writers is NOT a solution. I’m debating going back to using Yahoo as my search engine, taking adsense ads off my site, and using Sitemeter as my analytics choice. You can’t protect your interest by sabotaging your competition. Something better than PageRank is bound to come soon and I hope you relent this crazy and unfair practice soon before that happens.

Many people are starting to see the writing on the wall that Google is not as “open” and “user centered” as it would have us all believe. As for my work on PayPerPost, you can bet I am sticking with this new company. I’m always for the underdog in a good fight. If my page rank disappears, I wont worry about it. As long as you, the readers, keep reading … that’s what I’ll be ranking myself by.
