Me on Video Telling an Embarrassing Story

Wednesday, April 9th, 2008

I asked my lovely wife Sarah to video me telling this story. I wanted to get you thinking about times you may have wanted to “crawl into your shell.” This post is really to raise awareness about a site I ran across that deals with shellfish education. As bad as that experience was, I can imagine eating bad oysters out of ignorance would be far worse. I enjoy a good plate of oysters with a bloody mary once in a while and tonight I’ve been on a website reading about how there is some risk of getting really sick by doing so. So far I’ve been lucky none of my oysters have been bad.

If you’re an oyster aficionado like I am, you ought to check out this site about: Gulf oysters. I know it seems like a boring topic, but there is surprisingly some really interesting stuff on the site about shellfish and safety and I know I am very glad I got educated. It’s the kind of thing everyone has heard of but until you read up on it, it’s sort of a big mystery. Do you eat oysters? Remember this:

Come out of your shell!
