The NonBlog Meme: Thursday Three
Ok, so I’m making a meme that breaks the rules. I’m very hopeful that everybody I tag with this one will respond. Of course, as with all memes I send out, if I forgot you and you want to paticipate in this meme, here’s the rules:
- After your intro, copy/paste this line and the rules below it: The originator wants to see how far it goes so please keep his link intact: postcardsfromthefunnyfarm.com
- Encourage people to post with the incentive of a link by including those who have passed it along here:
(Your link here and so on . . .) - Visit at least 3 on the list who’ve written and passed this meme. Leave them a comment.
The Nonblog Meme: Thursday Three
Today I hereby “unblog” my mind with this post. One reason MANY of us writers get writer’s block is because we don’t nurture the things that give us joy. We spend too much time on the computer trying to write when we haven’t done anything worthy of writing about! To illustrate what makes me tick, and what gives me pure joy I am choosing 3 things I enjoy more than blogging and writing about them! Pick three things that enrapture, consume, fascinate, or otherwise enliven you more than blogging. Then write a few lines about each to explain what the nonblog activity does for you, why and how. My post below:
Guitar: When I pick up my guitar I thumb, pick, pluck, brush, and strum my way to heaven. There is hardly any trouble that a little guitar playing can’t fix. Changing strings, teaching guitar, hearing guitar, anything related to the 6-string calms my soul. I like it better than blogging.
Watching DVD’s on the couch with my wife: Lately we have seen “The Cider House Rules,” and “Les Miserables” to name a few. Sometimes we are blogging while we watch, but she can get me off my Papsan anytime to get close on the couch and watch a good drama or comedy together. I like it better than blogging.
Playing “horsie” and tag with my 2 year old: This gives the upper 2 a run for their money. She is a darling and I feel so lucky to be her dad. My other kids are a blast too. We are a real “carpet wrestling” family. I like it better than blogging.
I like these three things for sure more than blogging. But I do like blogging a lot!
I’ll tag my blogroll because I am curious what they would have to say . . .

You crack me up, we haven’t watched a movie on the couch together in 2 yrs or more, ha ha. In fact these movies were watched while we both were blogging and the kids were squealing through the room. Good Times, lol.
Well, I like it better than blogging!
Ha! Sarah is keeping you in line!
You think I like something better than blogging? Are you serious? (That was really my initial reaction… I may have to just list three things that tie….)
I can’t wait to do this one. I actually thought of two so far. It really is a good idea, Damien.
I did mine!!! I’m going to check to see if anyone else posted yet. It was fun!
WOW! You’ve stepped up your game — new theme and an originator of a meme. Can’t stop him folks!
Before I go, please stop by to explain further on your comment yesterday. I’m stumped!
I enjoyed reading what makes you tick other than bloggin’ and will certainly participate.
Happy Friday!
Dang, your security code caught me (even though I thought it was entered correctly) and I lost my original comment.
Great meme Damien, I’ll try to get something out in the next few days or thereabouts.
Derek, so sorry about the security code issue. I’ve reverted to moderating all comments until I figure a better solution. Thanks for your comments, and I look forward to your chain in the meme!
It seemed like the first time I would submit my comment, the security code wasn’t being recognized or something. I’ve seen a variety of captcha plugins so maybe there is another one that you can try.
Of course it could have just been me but I was sure I was entering the code right after the first time.
Thanks. I’ll try the “did you pass math” one.
The security code holds me up often too just an fyi. Like this time, I didn’t see the box where I was supposed to add two numbers then had to retype my message. It is quite bothersome.
I participated, but posted yesterday (Sunday).
PS I edited my comment because of a spelling error. :)
Thank you for that! I will get over there when I’m out from under the work firewall and read your blogger post ;)
hi damien, i was tagged with the thursday three and just posted!
What’s up Kendra. I look forward to reading your response :)
Your meme is alive and well. I’m fulfilling my posting! Nice blog.
Glad to hear people are still motivated.
